Jafar Ismail always loved the outdoors and in 2012 went on a trek to Mt. Kilimanjaro. He was hooked
after that and has so far climbed & trekked the following.
- 2012 – Mt. Kilimanjaro, Tanzania Africa, 19.3k feet. Tallest peak in Africa. Successfully climbed.
- 2013 – Mt. Rainier, WA, USA, 14k feet. Attempt aborted due to unfavorable weather conditions.
- 2016 – Swiss Alps, Switzerland – Trekked across the Swiss Alps, scaling several smaller peaks
- 2018 – Mt. Elbrus, Russia, 18.5k feet. Tallest peak in Europe. Successfully climbed.
- 2019 – Everest Base Camp trek, Nepal. Successfully trekked 40 miles from Lukla (9k feet) to the Everest base camp (17.5k feet). Jafar was accompanied by his then 14-year-old son, Sami.
- 2019 – Mt. Lobuche, Nepal, 20k feet. Successfully climbed with his son, Sami.
- 2020 – Mt. Cotopaxi, Ecuador, 19.3k feet. Successfully climbed. Jafar was accompanied by 4 of his kids
- 2020 – Mt. Chimborazo, Ecuador, 20.5k feet. Attempt aborted due to unfavorable weather conditions.
- 2021 – Mt. Chimborazo, Ecuador, 20.5k feet. Attempt aborted due to unfavorable weather conditions.
- 2023 – Mt. Aconcagua, Argentina, 23k feet. This is the tallest mountain in South America and the tallest mountain outside Asia. This mountain is known as ‘Mountain of Death’ due to the harsh climbing conditions. Jafar’s team was led by the world renowned mountaineer, Nims Purja (of 14
Peaks documentary).
